Breathing . . .
Is There Any Thing More Basic?

Breathing

How is your Breathing? How often in a day or a week or a month do you just stop, sit down, and notice yourself inhale . . . and then exhale? When you go to the doc, (once a year for your yearly physical, right?) does he pull out his stethoscope and check you out? He seems to think it's important, maybe we should all take this a little more seriously.

Here's something to try. Maybe at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day, make a place for yourself away from the usual chaos, sit down, relax and take air in . . . and let out . . . inhale deep down, making a great big belly.

Do it slow, kinda hold it, then to exhale, suck your gut in like you do when a nice looking woman walks by. Do that for like 5 minutes and take note of what you're thinking and feeling.

"This is our most essential activity as human beings, without it we cease to exist."

The quality and skill of how well we oxygenate can have a completely magnificent effect on on how well we live, how productive we are and happy we can be . . . or it can be devastating.

For some of us, this can translate to the health conditions that tip us over the edge into the Gout Zone.

Listen to what Mike White of breathing.com has to say:

  • Heart attacks, cancer, strokes, pneumonia, asthma, speech problems, and almost every disease known to mankind is worsened or improved by the quality of our respiration.

Go to his site and take the Free Test for a more than sobering wake-up call.

As a fairly active and athletic person I thought I would score much higher than I did. I have my work cut out for me.
