Lucky For Us, There Are Some Great Natural Remedies For Gout

Natural Remedies For Gout

As I said before, if you've had gout for any length of time, some of these Natural Remedies for gout are not going to be new to you. But maybe hearing about them one more time is what's going to get you to take advantage of them.

If you do your research about what to do for gout, (like I always ask you to) you'll find a lot of hooping and hollering about some of these remedies from both sides. So I'm putting it out here for you to decide.

Here we go.

Apple Cider Vinegar. Apple Cider Vinegar helps raise the pH in our bodies to a higher Alkaline level. That just brings us back to the Alkaline vs Acidic conversation. The more alkaline we can keep our pH, the lower we can naturally keep our (uric) acid levels.

From way, way back there is talk about ACV curing everything from head to toe, and everything in-between.

I do a little shot in a big glass of water everyday just for good measure. Most people say to mix it with honey but that just seems like too much trouble.

Baking Soda and Epsom Salts. To be perfectly honest with you, these two got right by me back in the days that I had gout attacks. I wish I had known!

But the "collective wisdom" out there on the Internet states some really positive benefits from them.

The Gout Baking Soda Trick can work to neutralize the uric acid crystals that have already formed because it is a natural antacid. Try a 1/2 teaspoon with about 8 oz. of water 4 times a day during an attack. Don't hit this remedy too often or too hard though because it is a lot of sodium.

I'm experimenting with doing a little shot of it once a week to give a boost to keeping the uric acid levels down.

Epsom Salts help move the uric acid out of the affected areas because it's good for circulation. Who would have thought? The same stuff we take baths in after a hard day of skiing . . .

Work it. There have been plenty of mornings I woke up with a nasty attack in my ankle or wrist and just had to jump into my day anyway. It always seemed to help to just get moving. There are many reports out there that say to gently work the affected joint to help improve the blood flow and get the crystals to break up and move on. It's painful just to write about it!

If you head down to the Health Food Store, there are a few good natural remedies for gout to pick up there that help to prevent and some for the attacks.

I had some pretty good luck with Arnica. I always had it around to ease the pain of over-used muscles and joints and it worked fairly-well with gout attacks but if they were really severe it didn't always do the trick.

Belladonna is another good homeopathic remedy that is good for pain and inflammation.

Alfalfa is a good preventative herb that can hold down uric acid levels and keep the crystals from forming.

B Complex Vitamins are known to keep uric acid from becoming a gout-causing problem. Load up with higher than normal doses. (250 - 350mg)

I hope that in addition to drinking lots of good water, eating good foods high in antioxidants, sleeping and resting well, you can prepare and prevent with natural remedies for gout.

A surprising and powerful natural anti-inflammatory that can be really good for gout is Honey. Jan will open your mind to all the incredible health benefits of honey and the secret life of bees. Please click and visit for a magical education.

Marius and Paula from www.self-healing-herbs.com also share a handfull of natural remedies for gout and other herbal remedies for common health conditions.

Just a quick insight - a treatment with Dandelion tea will help eliminate excess uric acid through urine. Also, a paste from dried Peppermint leaves will relieve the pain and significantly reduce the inflammation.
