They Are "Phytonutriets" and they're most well known as a substantial Antioxidant. "Phyto" means "plant". We don't need to spend too much time on this . . . unless you're one of those analytical types that needs to know all the details. If you are, please get on Wikipedia and you'll find a veritable gold mine of information to satisfy you. Flavonoids are the biggest and most widely researched sub-category of them. Other categories include: Phenols, Quinines, Xanthones, Stilbenes, Phenylpropanoids and . . . shall I go on? I didn't think so. What's important to us and our Quest To Be Free Of Gout is the Antioxidant Power and the ability to fight off Free Radical Damage, as well as the Anti-Inflammatory Benefits.
